Join us for an evening of art, joy, and comunidad as we celebrate the opening of Queerazón: Rooted in Amor y Comunidad on Friday, June 5th from 5–9pm, and is on display through July 12 at CHAC Gallery, 7060 W. 16th Ave., Lakewood, CO 80214. This dynamic group exhibition is a love offering—uplifting queer and trans voices in all their brilliance, tenderness, and power. This exhibit is curated by CHAC artist Michelle Sepulveda. There will be free community art projects to participate in, yarn butterflies, and small milagros.

Queerazón is a celebration of being: joyful and grieving, soft and fierce, rooted and ever-growing. Through deeply personal and collective storytelling, the exhibition honors identity, memory, ancestry, chosen family, and the everyday acts of care that sustain us.

Expect an atmosphere full of connection, reflection, and creative energy. This is more than an exhibition—it’s a living, breathing space where art becomes a bridge between healing and celebration, where community is both the canvas and the masterpiece.

Curated by a queer Chicana artist and founder of Curioso Cats Arts & Crafts, Queerazón centers inner child healing, cultural reconnection, and art-making as remembrance. Guests are invited not just to view, but to feel, share, and be part of the experience.

Presented by the Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC), an inclusive creative community dedicated to preserving and uplifting the voices and stories of Chicana/o/x, Latina/o/x, and multicultural communities.
