On Monday, Democratic nominee for governor of Colorado Phil Weiser announced the support of President Barack Obama, who praised Phil’s record of public service and leadership, and his commitment to lowering costs and building a brighter future for Colorado families.
“Phil Weiser has come a long way since he clerked for Justice Ginsburg and served as one of my Science and Innovation advisors in the White House. But he’s always known how to get things done. When we worked together, Phil helped lead our efforts to expand broadband and connect more Americans to the internet. As Colorado’s attorney general, he’s led with energy and integrity, standing up for our democracy, our elections, and our rights. And as governor, Phil will fight to lower costs for all Coloradans and build a better future for our kids. That’s why I’m proud to support Phil Weiser for governor.”
Phil served in the Obama administration as a senior adviser for technology and innovation, where he helped lead efforts to expand broadband access and connect more Americans to the internet. Before serving in the White House, Weiser clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

President Obama’s support adds to the broad coalition supporting Phil’s campaign for governor, and comes as Coloradans have begun casting their ballots in the 2026 general election. Watch video here.
