Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak highlighted the State’s progress in COVID-19 immunization efforts for members of Nevada’s hospitality and tourism workforce after touring the MGM Resorts vaccination clinic in Las Vegas.

“The work being done through extensive partnerships is tremendous. It’s not only helping save lives by providing a blanket of protection against COVID-19, but it’s helping get our economy back on track,” Gov. Sisolak said at the event. “Our comeback is here. Workers are coming back to the job and going home with paychecks. The neon lights are once again shining brightly. And we are on our way toward a full reopening by June 1. To continue this success and reach our goal, the work being highlighted today must continue.”

The Governor was joined by John McManus from MGM Resorts International, Gaming Control Board Chair Brin Gibson and Nevada Resort Association President Virginia Valentine. The Governor was also able to greet workers who took advantage of the on-site vaccine clinic prior to the press conference.

Thanks to strong partnerships between the State, local government and health districts, pharmacies, labor organizations, and casino operators, over COVID-19 vaccination sites have been stood up at gaming establishments throughout the State—creating a quick and easily accessible way for employees to access the life-saving vaccines.

The Governor encouraged all Nevadans who have not yet gotten the vaccine to visit NVCOVIDFighter.org to learn more and to schedule an appointment.
