Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions the Hispanic community has made to this great nation. As students and teachers, farmers and factory workers, entrepreneurs and doctors, soldiers and scientists, Hispanic Americans work every day to make América stronger.
But even as we celebrate this month, far too many Hispanics in América are still struggling to realize our nation’s promise of opportunity. Too many still live on the margins and in the shadows. And too many are under attack by Republicans lawmakers and the Trump administration, including hundreds of thousands of DREAMers who want nothing more than the chance to contribute to the only country they’ve ever called home.
Far too many Hispanics in América are still struggling to realize our nation’s promise of opportunity.
We are a nation of immigrants, and Democrats will continue to celebrate our Hispanic heritage by protecting and expanding opportunity for Hispanic Americans in every corner of the country.
