Lights Illuminate Adventure Golf and Raceways

With the sun setting early and the nights getting colder, Adventure Golf and Raceway reminds Colorado that not all outdoor attractions are closed for the winter. Operated by Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District, Adventure Golf and Raceways opens their gates past sunset to allow people to enjoy their Holiday Lights Mini Golf event. In its fifth year, the Holiday Lights presents 100,000 colorful lights from 5:30pm-9:00pm daily until January 6th, 2019.

As a date or as a group of friends/family, Holiday Lights Mini Golf can make the night fun and amusing with a volcano that erupts every 10 minutes, a giant talking tree known as Woody, and a beautiful light display along the many mini golf courses. With 54 holes of miniature golf total, the night can last for hours especially if hot chocolate, s’mores, and/or a selection of adult spirits are purchased.

Overall, Adventure Golf and Raceways has three miniature golf courses. Adventure Cove, Buccaneer Bay, and Lost Cove all have 18 holes each with a special final hole to end the round in a grand way. However, with the addition of the 100,000 lights and Christmas decorations, the three miniature golf courses have a magical touch to it in the cold winter night.

Even though the water that hugs the courses are drained to keep the pipes from freezing, there are still plenty of opportunities to take pictures. There is the volcano, a dragon with a Christmas hat, a white dear shining in the night, and a talking tree with a train circling its base. I have been to Adventure Golf & Raceways before. During the day, the golf course has a different atmosphere: children scream in joy, laughter travels through the course, and groups wait patiently for their turn. Holiday Lights Mini Golf has its’ own atmosphere. Families gather at the gate with their puffy coats, couples lock hands as they walk to the next hole, and other people hungry for a snack go to the Pit Stop to buy s’mores and hot chocolates. Near the Pit Stop there is a fire pit to heat the s’mores and stay warm under the night sky.

For anyone finishing finals at school, wanting a stress reliever, or craving a competition, the Holiday Lights Mini Golf is a great event to attend during the winter holidays. However, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Adventure Golf & Raceways will be closed. Regardless, Holiday Lights Mini Golf will make the holiday break an eventful one. Either playing as light-hearted as possible or playing to be the best and win, it is easy to forget about any and all stress educing work happening outside of Adventure Golf & Raceways.

Adventure Golf & Raceways is located at 9650 N. Sheridan Blvd. in Westminster, CO 80031, call 303-650-7587 or visit www.adventuregolfandraceway.com for more info.
