Rep. Deb Haaland
The past year has been a struggle for many families in our state and across the country — from managing kids learning from home and reduced work hours to caring for sick family members and the risk of coronavirus. Now, hope is on the way. Developed by top notch scientists and tested extensively, the vaccine is safe and important.
Get Vaccinated to Protect Our Families, Manage Economic Hardship
Under the fierce leadership of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, New México is ahead of the game when it comes to vaccine distribution and with a federal coronavirus response unveiled, we have more hope to protect our families and open our economy.

Congresista Deb Haaland
As an essential worker who goes to the floor of the House of Representatives to vote, I was in the first phase of vaccination distribution. I received both doses of the vaccine and am now better protected from the virus than I would be if I had refused to take the vaccine. I’m sharing my story, because I want everyone to have confidence in the science and health professionals who developed the vaccine and are encouraging everyone to get it.
But it’s not just about me or you, it’s about our community as a whole. By getting the vaccine we can all do our part to protect the frontline health care heroes and essential workers who keep our families healthy and our City running smoothly. The vaccine also empowers us to help manage economic hardship — our economy relies on folks staying healthy and stopping the spread of the virus. We’re taking back our power from coronavirus when we take responsibility, get the vaccine, and wear our masks.
As more vaccines become available for our families, it’s important to register on the New México Department of Health website at cvvaccine.nmhealth.org so we can protect our families and get through this challenging economic time.
Congresswoman Deb Haaland serves New México’s 1st Congressional District.
