Dr. Alex Marrero Named District Administration’s National Superintendent of the Year

Last week, the District Administration Leadership Institute announced the winners of its prestigious National Awards Program, recognizing outstanding districts, leaders and women in education.

Denver Public Schools was proud to share that Superintendent, Dr. Alex Marrero, was named District Administration’s National Superintendent of the Year.

Awards of Distinction is District Administration Magazine’s National Awards Program, which honors outstanding K-12 school districts and visionary leaders across the nation. This prestigious program aims to recognize and celebrate innovative initiatives and leaders who have delivered measurable results, revolutionizing education within school districts.

The Denver Public Schools High Impact Tutoring program was also nominated for the Academic Acceleration Award. According to the District Administration Leadership Institute, programs nominated for this award have “created remarkable, home-grown programs that can inspire and be replicated by educators nationwide. These pioneering initiatives have made a significant impact on student achievement, engagement and overall educational excellence. By sharing these successful models, we empower educators to build similar programs in their districts, fostering positive change in education across the country.”
