The Colorado Working Families Party (CO-WFP) announced on Sept. 18, its first endorsements for the November 2025 Coordinated Election. In addition to taking positions on statewide and local ballot measures, the party endorsed 23 municipal and school board candidates.
“Across Colorado, working people are ready for bold leaders who will fight for them – not corporate interests or the wealthiest few,” said Wynn Howell, State Director of Colorado Working Families Party. “These candidates share our vision for communities where every family has access to safe housing, strong neighborhood public schools, and a government that works for all of us. We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with them to win this November.”
In Boulder, COWFP is endorsing Mayor Pro Tem Lauren Folkerts and Councilmember Nicole Speer for reelection to City Council. “Our community deserves leaders who will take on the tough fights and work to ensure Boulder is a place where everyone belongs,” said Mayor Pro Tem Lauren Folkerts. “I’m honored to have the support of the Working Families Party, and together we’ll keep working to create a more equitable, sustainable, and inclusive city.”

In Aurora, COWFP is backing Alli Jackson for City Council At-Large. “I know what it’s like for families to struggle to make ends meet — that’s why I’m running,” said Jackson. “I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Working Families Party because they share my commitment to fighting for truly affordable housing, dignity, and a city government that puts people and community first. Together, we can build an Aurora where every family has the chance to thrive.”
In Denver, COWFP is endorsing School Board Director Xóchitl Gaytán in District 2. “Our public schools are the beacons of our neighborhoods,” said Gaytán. “I’m grateful to have the support of the Working Families Party as we fight to strengthen public education, be a strong voice for teachers and staff, and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Strong public schools are the foundation of strong communities.”
In Pueblo, COWFP is endorsing Tommy Farrell for the Pueblo D60 School Board. “I’m running for the Pueblo School District 60 Board of Education because every student deserves a safe, supportive, and high-quality education,” said Farrell. “As a former board member and lifelong advocate for public schools, I bring experience, dedication, and a deep belief in the power of community. Together, we can strengthen our schools, uplift our educators, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.”
